Deferral of studies

A request to defer the commencement of studies to the following academic year may be submitted with a recommendation of the departmental committee, if the student has not yet registered for courses. For cases where the deferral is approved, the policies specified in this handbook, on the course schedule website and in the registration handbook, apply as published in the year the student begins their degree in practice. Students who do not request a deferral or whose deferral was denied by the School of Graduate Studies, must reapply, at which time the relevant admission requirements are those of the year of reapplication.
