Course exemptions

The departmental committee chair may recommend to the School of Graduate Studies to exempt students from courses based on prior courses taken at Bar-Ilan or at other recognized institutions, for up to 50% of the total course load required for the degree.

A request for exemption including clearly justified reasons is to be submitted via the relevant form. The subject of the course, the year taken, the course ID, number of credit hours, the grade, the institution in which it was taken and the degree in which it was taken must all be indicated. An official transcript and syllabus must be included. Course exemptions will only be approved for courses at the same academic level the program course and with equivalent content.

Course exemption requests must be submitted in the first year of study.
