Degree completion certification
Students who have fulfilled all academic degree requirements, submitted all required assignments, passed all their exams and whose grades have all been fed into the system, may submit a degree completion request to the registrar’s office through the In-Bar portal.
The date of degree eligibility shall be determined based on the most recent date from among the following: date of submission of the last academic task / date course waiver or recognition was granted etc.
If the most recent academic task was thesis submission, the date of eligibility will be determined based on the date the thesis was submitted to the department.
The average grade of background completion courses (if taken) does not appear on the transcript and is not included in the final degree average.
Surplus courses
Students who have grades in surplus courses not required for the degree may request that these be removed from their grade point average. A request to remove grades from surplus courses may be submitted once, at the time the request for degree completion is submitted.
Such surplus courses and their grades will not be included in the grade point average and in degree credits, but will appear in the student’s transcript.
Upon receipt of degree eligibility certification, the following changes may no longer be made:
- Grade improvement in a course or another academic task related to the degree.
- Change in program / specialization / study track.
- Change in grade point average.
- Change in first or last name to appear on the diploma.
