Student status

Officially enrolled students

Unconditionally enrolled master’s degree students.
 

Conditionally enrolled students

Master’s degree students upon whom additional conditions have been imposed such as completion of the bachelor's degree or completion of background courses up to 8 AC (annual-based credits) (16 SC – semester-based credits). 
Students must meet all conditions imposed on them by the end of their first year.


Special status students

Students with conditions of admission including more than 8 AC (16 SC) credits for completion shall be admitted as students of special status; they must complete all additional courses by the end of their first year. After their status change, they shall be considered first year master’s degree students.

Status change

Students who have completed the conditions of admission set for them, shall submit a request for status change. Students may not continue with their degree study without having met the conditions set for them upon admission. Students who have not fully met the conditions and wish to continue their degree study may submit a request to the School of Graduate Studies to extend the period for fulfillment of the conditions for admission set for them, together with a recommendation by the departmental committee chair. The students may proceed with their study on approval of the School of Graduate Studies.
